Thanks Sarah - that's the plan.  Especially as DD2 can refer me for £50 each.  Virgin scheme seems that you get referred then they call you - obviously up selling, but I have a few questions so happy with that, although it seems bizarre.

I can renegotiate the rump SKY package (-movies and anytime call) to end up at £36 for full HD package and Netflix down from £66.   The anytime call is going as OH and her Dad now facetime, and that was the only driver for the landline cost.  With Netflix and Amazon prime we are OK for movies.  We did consider trying to make do without sky completely using On Demand, but we decided this was not the year to limit convenience and range of our TV type entertainment

So I should be able to go from £80pcm for all TV/BB/Landline to £100 (one month out of contract cost) but then down to £27pcm with Virgin (averaging £50 referral costs) for BB and Landline but no calls - and £36 for SKY (inc Netflix)- so a saving of just over £35 pcm.  Plus DD2 can also use our spare Netflix (with HD package you get 2 active viewers) so that saves her some money as well

Sounds like a plan. Make sure you look at what the offer is online before you speak with virgin to ensure you get the best deal as they don't always offer the same.

Thanks @Sarahwithlove duly noted.  This was 18 months so even more reason to be careful as they will no doubt try it on at some point.  Also they were very clear that in 17 month I will get an email telling me what to do about renewal/retentions and that the price would doubling at the end of month 18.  That's in the calendar now

Put the car up for sale on ebay and its has been wild - lots of people interested in cars that need a little work apparently - and the valid MOT is helping even if short.   Looking to get back almost (only £100 less) what I paid for it a year ago.

Will let you know - I put it up on 5 day sale, currently at 5 hours and had 8 offers/expressions of interest
