Hmrc tax refund help

Hi Guys!!
Basically, Doing a tax return scared me so i asked my friend if she could help as she has experience. When she put my banking details in she presumed they'd be the same as she held for me on her online banking, but i closed that account. it was too late to do anything when she told me. so i amended my tax return and changed the bank details, i had no idea what to do. The payment was issued, but obviously the bank account is not live. and the status of the payment has changed from 'issued' to 'repayment pending' - Can anybody help on what the next step is? Thank you in advance :A

give them a call tomorrow and go through the tax return to make sure no other errors, once you get the hand of of it, it really is simple to fill your own tax return in

Otherwise get an accountant to do it for you for a fee

Hi guys sorry for me being late getting back to you. It took 9 days including sat and sunday for it all to go through. However my HMRC is now saying payment issued today, but i dont know where the funds are going? The girl who did it amended my tax return bank details? so would it possibly go into the right ones or will they not notice the amendment? no clue. I cant call them as my phone is broken now. ( Christmas day drunkness :L )

If you phone HMRC they should be able to confirm the bank account which the refund is being paid into.

my phones broke and by the time im with someone who has a phone the offices will be closed

You could try webchat or whatever the HMRC version is on gov.uk.

It just says they are all busy. Ive even tweeted them haha
