Having thought about this a bit more, I've realised that my sofar does respond bloody quick..... if the solar to grid is above 200w.
Below that it is a bit random.
If it was already importing or exporting, it tends to respond to balance the supply, but if was idle, then it will do nothing, so yeah, same problem you are describing.
I'm about to move off the sofar, to the lux, and from the experiences shared on navitron, it looks like the lux can respond to a zero threshold.
That's not my reason for going to lux though, its because I can parralel lux to cover demand higher than 3kwWest central Scotland
4kw sse since 2014 and 6.6kw wsw / ene split since 2019

But, like them or loathe them, smart meters are well on their way to being rolled out ....
And I am not aware that there is a smart meter that works in areas where there is no mobile phone reception so some houses my never get them.Reed0 -
Update
Hi I’ve fitted a Timeguard fstwifi controlled fused spur switch and a 1kw immersion heater. I can now switch the water heater on or off remotely by my phone.Don't ask me how but everything works in harmony the batteries charge and the excess is put in to the water heater by the immersun.Everything works how it should and it doesn’t drain my battery down if left on and no excess power.Hope this helps0
