Mortgage and separation advice

Options
My partner and I are planning to separate (and divorce at a later stage, after). Is it possible for us each to get our own separate mortgages in principle (we both don’t want to have to rent while we sell the house then move again after when the house is sold) with the view that once the house is sold both parties will split the equity??
E.g. house value 150k, 75k equity, 75k mortgage so if we split the equity we’d get 37.5k each. Is there some sort of legal contract to sign that agrees parson x will get 50% of the mortgage and person y will also get 50%? So the mortgage in principle can use that as deposit etc?
Hope that makes sense.

Thanks
