    Van or not, they'll still have to make an adjustment for the private use of the vehicle, i.e. only claim the business proportion. (Assuming the OP isn't trading as a limited company).

    Although if you get a Double cab pick up that is classed by HMRC as a Van (usually a load weight of 1 tonne or more) it does qualify for the AIA (for the business proportion) and therefore would get a full deduction in year one.

    These are not cheap though! Or get a new car with <50g/km of emissions for a 100% FYA.
