FYI.... ask and ye shall receive

Been helping someone with total debts of £22,000, so £2000 over the maximum debts to qualify for a DRO.

10 creditors from £140 to £6000

this has been going on 18 months and he has been making reduced payments of between £1 and £15 per month

today he rang 3 DCA's ( 1 Barclays debt £1800 the other a barclays debt of £4200)

after an hour both agreed to take 50% of what he owes in full settlement (yes, i know the files will show only partially settled but bot DCA's are putting it writing he wont get chased further by them or Barclays)

So for £3000 he can shave £6000 off his total debts to be in the DRO ball park...or just do the lesser amount really..

He wont pay of course, a generous benefactor 3rd party will..

So try haggling before panicking...

Merry Christmas all
