Marriage Allowance Transfer Scam

in Cutting tax
I have been receiving the Marriage Allowance Transfer benefit for the past 2 years. In this morning's post, I received a letter that looked similar to an HMRC letter headed "Marriage Tax Allowance Rebate". It told me that I was yet to return my Marriage Allowance Application Pack, and had a simple form to complete.
My self assessment return for 2018/19 did not show the Allowance Transfer, so I assumed that something had gone wrong with "only complete it once", and completed the form. I then noticed a section headed "Spouse's Deed Of Assignment". This transfers all of the tax rebate to "Marriage Allowance Ltd", and not to me. I did an internet search on this lot, and found (not in MSE) that they take 40% of any benefit. This "fee" is not disclosed in either of the documents sent in the letter.
The application to HMRC for the allowance transfer is easy. You do not need to pay this bunch of crooks anything if you apply direct to HMRC. If they have caught you out, there may be recourse to recover the deduction from your rebate as they have not disclosed their T&C's.

Complain to your MP. it remains a sad reflection on our government that people who have no qualifications are allowed to pretend to provide tax advice.1

Anyone who applies for Marriage Allowance can only ever pay the same or more tax than they would otherwise have down.
It is the person that doesn't apply who receives any refund due.
Unless this company is asking both spuses to sign the form I cannot see how there would any Marriage Allowance refund due to the applicant.0 -
Wife put in for this too, had an email from HMRC in January, saying we had a refund that went to this company, and haven't been able to get hold of the company to get the money from them, is there anything I can do?1

Hi I received a letter from HMRC on the 26th March with new tax code and saying I was owed £901.24p and that HMRC will send cheque to MARRIAGE ALLOWANCE CLAIMS within 14 days of said date. I received email on the 17th April saying I should receive cheque within 21 days but due to Covid-19 could be delayed.
I received cheque on the 21st May saying repayment has been sent directly from HMRC's Repayment Team for £499.14p
Refund Calculation as follows
Tax overpayment £901.97
Claim Administration & Processing Fee (£335.69)
VAT (Payable to HMRC at 20%) (67.14)
AMOUNT(S) PAYABLE TO CLIENT £499.14
Nowhere I was told there was a fee. I was always under the impression that you didn't have to pay to claim for a tax rebate this seems to me to be a bit of a SCAM0 -
