I recently attended three Aikido classes in a local village hall. Brilliant! Unfortunately the teacher had to make a runner due to an overseas debt (at least that is the story). So I am now looking to join an established local club. Our village and the nearby small town have numerous clubs including judo, Taekwondo, Karate…

In the end I went with Hapkido which has elements of Taekwondo and other martial arts. The main reason was that it was only six miles away and affordable. The organiser is a pleasant chap. After a few months the club closed, hopefully temporarily but I can’t see how martial arts can continue. I feel for the poor people whose businesses might collapse.
