Private pension self assessment

Hi,
One of the options on my online self assessment tax return asks

"Did you receive any UK pensions, annuities or state benefits, for example, state pension, occupational pension, retirement annuity, Incapacity Benefit?"

I inherited a pension from

WEST MIDLANDS PENSION FUND

when my father died - total annaul amount is:

£2,462

This is classed as private pension in my online PAYE tax account - and has letter L after code.

I'm 24 years old and do not receive a state pension.

Is this classed as a state pension which I should delcare on my self assessment?

I'm confused because the question later on says 'enter in the exact amount you received from this STATE pension. Well, this isn't a state pension - it is a private pension - the website even says so.

Do I delcare it, or not?

Thanks.
