  • Nope, not a Henley Block, there is no enclosure to poke a screwdriver into. I have two entities, each clamped around one original cable and one cable to the inverter. These have metal screw threads poking out of them. I presume these things pierce the sheath of the original cable and connect it to the new cable but somehow without the external metal becoming live.

    Sounds like a 'giant' version of the 'Scotchblok' connectors used to add new 12V items to a car wiring system. Can't say I've ever seen anything like that for mains but it sounds safe enough - providing you don't try and tighten up one of the screws ! Quite surprised if there isn't some sort of additional cover to prevent that
