In my local sainsburys, they were selling packs of prawns like these:

They are meant to be £5.99 Each or 2 For £6, but the store had put them on special offer at £3 a pack.
But at the till it came up like this:
The "Fish Offer" is the 2 for £6 offer and the "Reduced Item" Took off the money to make them £3 a pack!
But as there were both offers, it came to just 4p!! Thats 1p a pack!!!!!
I don't know if its national, but it may be worth checking!

I used to work at Sainsbury's as a stock controller. I can confirm that this happened on a regular basis.
If an item is £1 BOGOF and you bought x2 reduced because of date @ 50p. The till is set up to take £1 off for your BOGOF so you would efeectively get it for nothing.
It's been three years since I worked there and they obviously hvaen't upgraded their systems, worth a look at Sainsbury's if you can do your maths
Good find OP0 -
Mine had 7 Dec On them.
They weren't the usual Reduced To Clear Prices, they are on one of those managers special cards, and still have the 2 for £6 on the packs and the original barcode, no reduced labels.0 -
Oh my hat ... or should that be prawn ... it has to be worth a try ... even if you end up paying the reduced offer price it is a good deal ...
Many Thanks for the post ... :^)LittleBill ... "The riches of a man can be measured by what he can do without"0 -

Just a point to note ... Sainsbug's computers now take into account the reduced prices on BOGOF's ... sadly ...LittleBill ... "The riches of a man can be measured by what he can do without"0 -
Regularly used to get mega bargains like this when they reduced items manually until they introduced barcoded reduced stickers which over-ride the system discounts. Maybe not all stores use the new barcode reduced stickers tho?0

On Most items though. I work at sainsburys, and a lot of reduced things that come through the tills don't take the offer, but then again, a lot of things do!
For example, i bought 4 boxes of £1.99 Cookies (or 2 for £3.50) reduced to 5p a box. Then the multi-buys come off, so it took off 96p, meaning they gave me 91p of my shopping!
I don't know why some do and some don't but i think they have nearly got rid of them0 -

These barcode labels do the exact same thing as the orange labels. It just saves us having to press the reduce button and type the amount (which would be much better, as these reduced ones don't scan 8 times out of 10!!)0 -
Has anyone else managed to get any of these then?0
