Hi All,
I just discharged from Bankruptcy after 12 months. So, when check my credit reports, found still my current accounts which were included in the bankruptcy and was frozen still showing in the report as "OK". Even, I can log into account but I tried to bank transfer into this account but rejected. So, I am little confused, actually what will happened to these current accounts now ? Can I reactive these accounts or should close them. what my option actually ?
I found in the forum all about credit card and history clean up which I already started by sending post and email to all. But, I haven't send any letter to my old current accounts which balance was zero and was frozen by OR. Any suggestion what should I do with these Accounts ?

It's the banks who close/freeze current accounts, not the OR.
Did any of the accounts have overdrafts which were included in your bankruptcy?0 -
Two had overdraft,Other twos no balance no OD facility either. All was declared to OR and Included. I already sent letter to OD balances accounts to update credit report with correct information. Now, thinking what should I do other two which still showing ok in my credit report. Can I ask bank to active again those two or should I just tell them close those as well.0

Are the two that are showing ok and didn't have overdrafts with the same bank (or banking group) as ones that had overdrafts written off?
If so, I very much doubt they'd reactivate them.
If not - it's worth a shot. Likely to have no lending facilities applied but otherwise you've got yourselves live current accounts.
If they ARE with a bank/banking group you previously had debts with, I'd be inclined to just leave them how they are.
If they're showing OK then they're actually helping to repair your credit history and presumably are some of the oldest active accounts you have.
Whilst you'll struggle for quite a while after bankruptcy, little things like that could well make all the difference between pass and fail when you do come to need credit/credit related services again in future.0 -
Thank you so much for detail reply.
At both Lloyds and Halifax, I had two current accounts with zero OD balance but I had also two credit cards with them as well and all of them were included. Is there any connection between current account and credit card ? As when i logged on lloyds bank I can only see current account, saving account but no credit card. They deleted from the platform.
Specially, My Lloyds current was more than 10 years old, so, it will be very good if i can keep alive that account. Should I just keep as they are or should I contact with them with the certificate of discharge letter.0 -
LBG will have a common customer profile for you. So they'll know you've defaulted on your cards.
I've got a Lloyds a/c from pre-bankruptcy, they never even blocked it - but are well aware of my Halifax credit card & overdraft that got written off! Think that may have been a mistake though!
You could phoning them and seeing what they say.
If you are allowed to have it re-activated, paying a salary into it will help massively in the future - I've got a ridiculous overdraft on it currently and my bankruptcy doesn't even drop off for another few months!0
