The link you have quoted says:
"You have six years to take a claim to court for faulty goods in England, Wales and Northern Ireland; in Scotland you have five years."0 -
As the OP has stated the issue with the faulty goods has been settled leaving a 6K debt.
At £45 per month (£540 per year) a 6k debt will take just over 11 years to clear. And that's with interest frozen. It looks like Very want their money and are going to court for it. I don't see how the OP can fight this. If they genuinely owe the money then they will end up with judgement against them.
How big the OP's other debts are will probably determine the future course of Events.
