SAD FART Advice needed on money claim

Hi all
I need some advice. I purchased a branded coat for my son last year at a cost of £115. it's an insulated winter coat that has been worn at best 6 months (it's not winter all year round). I've returned the coat to JD sports for an inspection and I have found holes in the fabric in several places and also the colour has faded under the arms to a grotty brown colour. They've rejected my position and I'm considering a money claim as I don't believe the goods have lasted a reasonable period of time - I've had supermarket coats that have lasted significantly longer than this. The jacket - a Nike Advance 15 is listed as being "durable" by Nike. It's been discontinued in this colour but is still on sale in another colour. Am I being unreasonable to have expected it to last longer than 14 months time - surely "wear and tear", like a car, should only be based on the actual wear or use of the item rather than the period of time it has been owned.
TIA

Perhaps you will get more people looking and giving advice if you post in the consumer rights rather than campaigns. Unless you want to make it a campaign? The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0

How old is the son - what has he been up to in it without you knowing?? Has he spilt something on it or put it down on something?
If you paid by credit card speak to them first to see if they think you can claim?
Personally from what you have written you will find it difficult to win a claim.0 -
Eh..Clothes are expected to last longer if they are used properly. From what you describe, your son didn't really wear it well?ally.0
