Tesco - policy when no receipt for clothes ?

Hi,

can anyone give me advice ?

my partner bought me a jumper in Tesco ( lovely thought !!) but I don't like it. He can't find the receipt and paid cash for it.

Obviously I'd need the receipt to get a refund but is there anything else I can do ?

do Tesco do credit notes or could I get something else like CDs instead ?

any help would be appreciated.

As they do their own range(chereoke) or something like that really not sure of the spelling then as you cant buy them other than tesco you can get an exchange not sure if they do credit notes or gift cards though but you should have no problem taking it back

I have had full refunds in cash without the receipt in the past. Only issue might be - last weekend they had 20% off all clothes, so you might not get the full amount back?

I had to return an item couple of weeks ago and I couldn't find my receipt. They gave me a credit voucher but I could only spend it on clothing.

I've taken childrens clothes back without the receipt and they just offered an exchange for other clothes. Seem to remember the SA saying that clothing returns were treated differently in that you had to buy more clothing.

I have always been told that I can exchange the clothing item for another clothing item only.
