the dentist did not want to take X-rays because I told them i took them recetly on my last visit i said 4 months ago, but i could not remember exactrly when they were taken last time, that's why I did tell her I was happy to call the dentist straightway, but she did not allow me to do so, then I called my previous dentist when I got home, and last X-rays were taken 6 months ago. they says that X-rays are not good for health, which is true, but I was happy to have new X-rays taken to fix my tooth, if she did not want me to call my previous dentist, but she did not agree with none of them. Thank you very much

There is way too much going on there that isn't being told!!

If you have sat in the dentists chair, you have used surgery time. Surgery time is not free. It sounds to me like you were dictating to the dentist what you wanted, and for some reason the dentist was not happy to do what you wanted with the information they had to hand. That is perfectly fair enough, as if they did the wrong thing just based on your demands, they really would be wide open to a complaint.

£70 would probably buy you 15-20 mins in the dental chair. If you chose to waste it by arguing over x-rays, that's up to you. I think the dentist offering to see you without charging once you'd sorted the x-ray problem is fair enough. But if you were in the surgery, then the meter was running.
I understand very well when you say the meter was running but I was willing to pay for that, now £70 are gone and my tooth has not been fixed, I need to pay another dentist which will definitely be more expensive, than an extra 5min of dentist visit. Thank you very much

Where does the OP say that?

I can't easily see where the OP is "dictating" either but as you say we don't know the whole story....

I always find it interesting that when dealing with a mere tradesman (e.g plumber, electrician, decorator) it is normal to get several "free" estimates or quotes. However, with a "professional" how dare one question their expertise and they are so revered that the client / customer / patient should expect to pay them simply for the privilege of being told how much the job will cost!
I told them I was going to pay for an X-ray when I was sat on the chair dentist

Well - let's see if the OP comes back with any clarification of what actually went on. Until then, we can't really tell very much.

I hope it all more clear now Thank you very much

    Nope - sorry! No clearer.

An X-ray will not fix a tooth.

An x-ray should only be taken if the result of that x-ray might change what you are going to provide in the way of treatment. If the dentist felt they wouldn't have time to fix any problem shown up by the x-ray, they shouldn't take the x-ray! They should leave it to the next dentist you would see when you got back from holiday and had moved.

You seem to think it would only take 5 mins to fix the tooth? If that was the case, then the tooth would only need something pretty simple like a temporary dressing, or a rough edge smoothed down. Even then the temporary dressing would only be a sticking plaster for the time being. If all the tooth needed was smoothing off a rough edge, then an x-ray wouldn't be necessary beforehand.

You've not mentioned very much about what you thought the problem actually was - but you've not mentioned being in any pain. If you were in pain, the dentist should have done something to help try and relieve that. If you weren't in pain, then the dentist would not try to 'fix' something if there were a chance it might destabilise the situation and cause you pain.

It still sounds to me that you were expecting too much from that appointment, and what you were asking of the dentist was either not possible, or could make matters worse.

Oh - and I would sort out a phone that records all calls automatically. It will get you into serious data protection trouble one day!
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
