in Cutting tax
Hi
Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong section, but i couldn't find anything for it.
I've recently started with a company as a mobile electrician , supplied with a company car and fuel card . Now im new to this as its my first time with this type of job .
Im aware of the BIK tax on the car which is around £107 for my car, but threes apparently a tax on the fuel card too ? from what i read online you pay tax if the fuel is supplied free for private mileage ?
Now i have to list my private and business mileage separately , as i get charged 0.11p per mile, but my main question is do i have to pay the fuel tax if im being charged by the company for the mileage ?
Ive tried asking within the company and to be honest im hitting a brick wall as i get nothing from them.
From what i can tell this car is going to cost me £250+ a month in taxes , surely that cant be right ??
Sorry if i seem stupid to this but i cant wrap my head around the fuel tax if im honest.
Regards and thanks
Tony

If you are paying back all your private fuel using the correct advisory rate for your vehicle then there should be no fuel benefit charge.0
