Hi,

Following today's MSE email I went to M&S to get a last minute pressy for my beloved.

The email mentioned the "M&S New York" EDT spray for £18 that had fared better in blind tests than a Chanel equivalent costing £113.

I tested it and it smelt lovely.

Whilst on my way out I noticed a stand displaying the same EDT but this time boxed with a free New York body lotion - my wife loves body lotion btw. The price was the same - £18 for the 100ml.

So, I swapped and went to the checkout.

Ok, you read this far so here's the punch-line. The stand bore a label saying "up to 50% off marked prices".

I had assumed that the £18 was after this deduction but I was wrong. When I got to the till I was informed that all it was going to cost me was £9 for both the ETD and the body lotion!
