Limited company pension contributions

I am the director of my limited company, when paying pension contributions directly from my business account into my personal pension do I record it on my self assessment form?

Not if it's a company contribution. It is paid gross to your personal pension and the company can claim corporation tax relief as an allowable expense.

Do you have an accountant? They should be able to help you with things like this, along with other ways of being tax efficient.

No need at all for an accountant with a limited company, if you want to do it yourself and are up to presenting figues the way HMRC wants them presented.


Accountants first duty is not to save you tax, it is to complete your company tax returns and keep both the limited company and their actions in putting the returns together in line with tax and companies law.


When I used an accountant some years ago they gave poor information and made no attempt to optimise tax planning.
