My kids aren't big sandwich fans so we plan the days as:
1. jacket potato with filling
2. pasta dish or beans or stew or chilli
3. soup and crackers
4. pie/chicken drumstick/pizza with salad
5. sandwich - wraps or pitta usually
In the summer I do less hot stuff and more pasta or rice salads.
Like the sausage idea - will have a go at that“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Unfortunately, our school don't allow any hot food, so no soup
Tend to alternate between sandwiches, bagels, crackers and cheese, and wraps. 0
