People get defensive as if having privilege is an accusation. It's not. It's an invitation to consider that just because you personally can do X, Y, Z, doesn't mean that it's possible for others.
So when someone tells you to check your privilege, it's because you are holding other people to a standard that's possible for you, but not for them. Hopefully it's due to ignorance and not arrogance. There's not one person in this world who has nothing left to learn.
Our opinions differ, we are not going to agree.
The fact remains that borrowing more money when you are already bad at managing it will not solve the problem.

There's no inference the poster is bad at managing money, just has bad credit. That does't necessarily mean bad at managing it, that could mean a loan, lost a job, got pregnant, couldn't pay it back, could mean they bought a house, husband left, couldn't pay bills, could mean there was no food for the kids, borowed money to eat, couldn't pay it back. Any of those scenarios don't mean bad at managing money.

It’s a shame that people seem to realise too late, in many occasions, how much adult life costs, and how very much harder it will be if you have several children before being on a really firm financial footing.
It’s too late now for the OP, who has to do the best they can from a set of limited options, but I wonder what could be done to help others before they get into a similar situation.0
