It's been some time since I did my driving test (erm..., mumble..., 23 years!) but I totally agree with the above statements! I had 12 lessons (paid as a block) with a local company that everyone recommended. Absolutely hated learning to drive a car and swore I'd never bother with it (I wanted a motorbike anyway). I used dread every lesson.
Gave up after the 12 lessons and had a break of 6 months. Went back with a cheaper instructor from somewhere else and passed first time after 8 lessons.
Been driving 23 years now. Took my motorcycle test 7 years ago and really enjoyed that. It also improved my driving significantly (riding a motorbike is harder and requires much more concentration IMHO).
Good luckTrying hard to be a good moneysaver.0
