First Time Buyer Mortgage - Gambling

Options
Good afternoon all,

I was just wondering if anyone could give me a word of advice I have a deposit of 14k for a house of 133k between me and my girlfriend. But I have found out this morning that the bank want three months worth of statements during this time I have spent about £130.00 pound on gambling through online transactions, I mainly bet at the football with friends on a Saturday, I never bet in working week. We both earn salaries of 19000 each and the only payment I have is 260 car finance payment and 33 pound phone bill.

Will this make my application decline, over the years I have always been very good with money and made all my payments on time but I am now very worried as my mrs will be furious if this makes our application decline and I don't think her family will be very impressed?

Thank you everyone

I would be surprised is £130 over 3 months only on the weekends would be a problem.

If it is £10 a week it shouldnt be an issue either.

In general £1 a day is worse than £10 every Saturday.

  • I agree with the above.
We don’t know which lender it is, but I think unlikely to cause too many issues.
There are lenders that don’t ask for bank statements, so if this doesn’t work for whatever reason, use a broker to place you somewhere else.
