Morning All
My BR was 10/12/2013, so last Tuesday was my 6 year anniversary.
Last weekend I was notified by Equifax that there'd been a major change on my credit file. In a panic I logged in, but found that my BR record had been removed from my file a few days early!! :j
Today all my BR creditors' files have dropped off my file and my credit score is now "good". I still have my trusty Vanquis Credit Card, which I took out a month after my BR discharge.
Thinking back to 6 years ago, and the difficult months prior to that, all I can say is that this group helped me so much. Always online and always ready with solid advice and empathy. Thank you all.
To anyone worried about BR, you will get through this. I did. There is light and better times ahead. I've been reading the threads today and they contain the same questions and fears I had 6 years ago, so try not to worry. It will all work its way through. BR is a process, not a judgement.
To all the regulars who take care of this forum - you are amazing.

Id like to second the above, i filed for BR on the 24/04/2014, the magical 6 years is fast approaching.
Since BR i have radically changed my life and used the experience as fuel, i couldn't do much after the event so i sucked it up stayed with the parents and have rode out the past four years doing a degree, just writing my final dissertation now.
Im hoping 2020 will be an even better year, degree, new job, car, maybe an MSc and hopefully a house. I am much more financially aware these days and live to my means for the most part, i have driven a banger of a car since BR a fact that regularly amuses me and been on one short holiday staying in a hostel in the last 9 years.
Best wishes to anyone reading this, its a chance to rebuild.0 -
My 6 years is up in June this year and i'm counting the days down.
I've never quite managed to rid myself of the feeling of shame even though i was never carted off to "debtors prison". I remember standing in front of the judge holding my friends hand and thinking "this is my rock bottom but the only way is up". I'm pleased that it can be done online these days.
I'm looking forward to it being part of my past rather than my present.
Can't wait for my Experian email.

I filed just over 7 years ago and would like to also say that it gets easier! My top tip is to make sure you clear up your credit files. It takes a bit or organising but it’s well worth it. I’m now in a position where I have no debts, some savings and use credit cards which I pay off in full every month. My credit rating is excellent and I Always budget each month. I tick off every bill as it goes out and stay really on top of my money.
