Certificate of Discharge

Options
Dear All,

After 12 months, finally I have been discharged from Bankruptcy this week.
I received a Certificate of Discharge from the insolvency customer service team. In the bottom of the certificate, its written "If the above-individual requests it, the official receiver will advertise this discharge notice and have it listed in The Gazette. The individual has 28 days from the date of this certificate to make their request." Now, my query what is the benefit of this notice on gazette ? should I ask for this to printed on gazette or leave it as.

I haven't found this before on this forum, So, it will very helpful of someone share more details about this notice of discharge on Gazette...

Thanks in advance

The question should be, do you wish to make your bankrupcy discharge public knowledge or not ?

The choice is yours, but i would not be keen.

  • Your BR is listed in the Gazette and you can add that you've been discharged as a note almost. It's up to you if you want your discharge to be public.
  • And one thing as well to remember..OR publishes your bankruptcy in the gazette free of charge...BUT if you want discharge noted they will happily do for you but will bill for the process as discharge notice isnt free
