Not sure earning more would actually help much unfortunately. benefits may decrease & child care costs increase. Suggest running it past a benefits advisor or online benefits calculatorTallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0

Can you get any maintenance? You should not have to struggle alone.0

If your son needs a wheelchair and gets DLA including the mobility element, shouldn't you be exempt from road tax even if you run your own rather than a Motorbility car?0

This is a tough one as your expenses are not outrageous in any areas, it seems in my opinion you could do a quick sweep check to make sure you cant save elsewhere on utilities. Then I would look to see how you can increase your income. Selling on line ? Old toys, etc etcBaby Step 6/7 . £16000 saved and invested. £47,000 deposit paid on new home DEBT FREE !!!

What rate of DLA is your child receiving?
Can you breakdown your benefits for us?0 -
I would strongly urge you to go to Citizens Advice and have a benefits check. Take your recent bank statements with you and any benefit award letters.
It is possible that you would be better off on Universal Credit (you can choose to apply if this is the case)
Also, you talk about your son having a wheelchair but looking at your other posts he receives DLA low mobility. Has he been reassessed since you first applied?
You could put your details into the benefits calculator on https://www.entitledto.co.uk to find out your entitlement. You will need to say that you are not receiving any current benefits at the moment so they will assess you for Universal Credit.0
