    Hi, if anyone is still monitoring this post; I've read through this, I think I'm gonna go over the £50k mark this April. Possibky by 5k, is the only way o avoid higher rate tax and child benefit tax, to pay the extra 5k into my pension.

    If you look at HMRC's child benefit charge calculator you'll see that the things you can deduct seem to be pension contributions, gift aided charitable contributions and cycle scheme.  I'm guessing pensions are probably the most relevant to you!
