hi all, im a newbie never posted before but think this website is great.
I have recently bought a laptop from ebuyer it was a great deal an hp with cash back.
I personally waconcerened about the site and such a good deal. yet it arrived quickly and laptop all what it said.
In my opinion i didnt want to buy a dellor an acer. Please check processor speed has duel core have differen numbers meaning dual core processor t2 no is slower than one thats t7 numbers. On a budget i feel i got a good make, the processor and all the gadgets yet not the vista my son wanted. But i feel xp is better when it costs 40 pound to downgrade.
yet overall i got a great deal from ebuyer.com.
sorry my first post was sooo long yet i took weeks finding a good deal laptop.0 -
I've got an Acer desktop. Can't complain at all.http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-9774.aspx
Tesco do an Acer for £299 including free delivery and 299 tesco points as well.
Acer's are alright, not the best spec for games but good enough for most folks surfing the net and YouTube stuff.
Like the post above, the laptop isn't going to be the best for gaming but it's one of the best you'll get for £299

Don't forget to check out Dell Outlet. They currently have a promotion for free delivery worth £60 and £95 off some systems. The products available seem to change frequently so check as often as you like.
Yesterday I bought two 2Ghz Dual Core Vostro 1000s, 2MB RAM, 120GB HDD, DVD+/-RW, 6-cell battery, plus the basics. It had the added bonus for me that the OS is XP Pro, which is what I wanted. (There have been lots with Vista too.) Total price came to just under £365 each, delivered.
I "built" the exact same system through the normal Dell shop and the total price came to £693.32 each delivered
Quidco doesn't seem to have tracked for it though. Never bought from the outlet before so I don't know if it should have...
Also never bought a computer before without advice from my clever friend or from a recommendation on MSE, so I hope I got myself a bargain :rotfl:0 -
Are you sure you meant Vostro 1000 ?Bargain_Mad wrote: »I "built" the exact same system through the normal Dell shop and the total price came to £693.32 each delivered
Looking at the dell site that spec Vostro 1000 comes out at most £349 =Vat + delivery.
Still makes your outlet purchase of £365 delivered good.
Its always worth looking at the outlet but you have to be careful as sometimes they are dearer than through the normal shop.0 -
i bought a HP laptop from johnlewis.com. The 120gb hard drive. I used a £30 off voucher which i found at hotukdeals.com. Laptop was £319 when voucher used. Ordered it on Sunday and received it first thing monday morning. I am very pleased with it, as we will only use it for surfing the internet.
It comes with a 2yr guarantee aswell.

And once you know what you want, check out Quidco, and if you have one, pay with a Capital One 4% cashback card. I applied for that card to buy my new laptop; ended up getting 4% back that way, 5% back through Quidco, and 82.50 off via the Toshiba cashback deal, so felt I did pretty well!!!' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0

Yeah it was the Vostro 1000, but with upgrades (TL60 chip, XP Pro, 2048MB SDRAM, 120GB HDD & 8xDVD+/-RW, and 6 cell battery) as opposed to the basic Vostro 1000 which has a lesser chip, standard operating system (vista or xp), only 1GB RAM, 60GB HDD, a CD rewriter rather than a DVD one, and a 4-cell battery.
If you add the Vostro 1000 to the basket and then adjust it to the same specs as the outlet one that's the shocking price it came to!
Thanks for the tip about prices, I will deffo keep it in mind - like I said, have never used the outlet before but will always check the normal shop price if/when I use it again. :beer:0 -
I was in Sainsbury's last night and spotted a Medion Laptop with dual core processor, at £399 which had 160 GB Hard Drive and 2048mb Ram. While I don't know anything about this make, my friend told me she bought one today and is happy with it especially as the spec is high for the money.2p or not 2p? That is the question!0

Oh, and of course you can get nectar points at Sainsbury's!2p or not 2p? That is the question!0

DSG stores (Dixons,Currys,PC World) should be having a clearout on Laptops soon. Seems they overstocked and couldnt sell them so that should result in some price cutting. Otherwise Fijitsu Siemens website, just google it and they sell good spec laptops reasonably priced (think it somewhere along the lines of nice-pcs the website)
Hope this helps
