CII CF6 Exam

Hi All,

I'm looking to study the CII CF6 exam and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of some more condensed study notes for this paper? I've passed their R01-R06 exams using Brand Financial's study notes as I find the CII's books really dry and repetitive.

However, Brand don't seem to have study notes for this one and Aviva have deleted most of their adviser material (I don't know if they produced condensed notes for this one anyway) so was hoping you fine people could advise me if any useful study notes/learning material other than the CII book exists that helped pass the exam?

Aviva didn't have the notes for CF6.


Best way for me was to get the little key facts book from CII - learn from that and expand on it with the CII stuff (I know it's dry and difficult but satisfying to finally pass!)

If you have passed RO1, CF6 should be a doddle. It is a lot more interesting than RO1.

Cheers for the replies both, and thanks Brown for the recommendation. I think perhaps the way to go for me would be to buy the CII's key facts and try and do as many questions as I can.

As I say, I really can't face trying to put myself through reading one of their books again, I just find them so monotonous! Although you are completely right when you say R01 is one of the most dry, boring exams I have taken thus far.

Did you use Brand Financial's study notes exclusively to prepare for the exams? Are there any other resources you would recommend?

CF6 is a doddle compared to R01.
Read the text book cover to cover. A lot of it is common sense.

I sat RO1 twice using CII texts and failed, as struggled with the material, but was then recommended bespoke training. Honestly so glad I took the advice. Books were written in a way that made it easy to digest, actually interesting at some points! They are very on point highlighting areas that historically tend to have more focus in the exams and others that dont so time is spent in the right areas. Each chapter also has tasks to complete before starting to test your understanding prior to the learning and you can compare at the end which was actually really useful. If possible I would recommend buying text from bespoke rather than CII and only booking the exam via CII. It's worth mentioning the Bespoke training provide the training and material for the St james place adviser academy. This is who recommended the material to me due to consistent high pass rates.
