Old thread but some good advice and info on here...
Can I just ask how advisors are finding the role at the moment?
I work in mortgages, degree in Economics and passed cemap1 studying cemap2 currently.... I often find a lot of people who are struggling to meet mortgage payments are mortgage advisors/brokers... it may just be my perceived awareness if the job title that sticks in my head though.0 -
In short, its !!!!!!.
lol.
I beleive that any mortgage only broker who says otherwise (like someone I saw a few months ago bragging about the new merc he had just ordered) is telling lies. There are plenty of clients, but the lack of products make mortgage broking very very very difficult at the moment.0 -
My mortgage adviser has put through a few remortgages but is busier on referring investment based business to me than he is on mortgages. He if effectively more an introducer than mortgage adviser at the moment.
Most of the long term IFAs are as busy or even busier than normal. The short term ones (say 2 years or less) are struggling. I think the business model they use has more to do with that. Servicing based models do well regardless. Transactional models suffer.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
