Erudio/dryden's nightmare

  • Thanks for this...

In the meantime do I need to communicate with Dryden's - as they wrote me a letter - saying "we are in a position to progress our clients Claim against you and would, therefore, invite you to now settle this matter without the need for further legal action"

I'm worried about more legal action and extra court costs.

    Appreciate your response.
  • I'll write this today and send to Erudio.

Shall I inform Dryden's that I have done this?

You could write stating there is a dispute with the account, but Drydens are a law unto themselves, it won`t stop them progressing the claim, should they wish too, the next step would be a pre-action letter, which is a questionaire type document that alllows 30 days for completion, its unlikely anything further will happen until well into the new year, if at all.

  • Thanks for your quick response!

Dryden's has already sent me a pre-action letter and I filled in a Court Claim form in October.

How much power does Dryden's actually have?

No power whatsoever, they are simply a firm of solicitors who like to hound people for bad debts, they are used by the major debt purchasing companies.
