Getting a new customer rate as a remortgage?

Hello all,
I've currently got a mortgage with Nationwide which will expire in a couple of months, and notice the rates they have for existing customers and new customers are different on their tracker mortgages (for £599 reservation fee, the rate is BR+0.08% for existing, and BR -0.07% for new).
Has anyone successfully got them to do the new customer rates for them? or are their pitfalls with doing this (additional fees etc).
Otherwise, can anyone suggest a good tracker mortgage rate with low transfer fees on the market at the moment?
