The only problem with the loans is that as soon as you each miss a contracted payment, the creditor will attempt to take it from the guarantor, you cannot debt mange a guarantor loan due to their very nature you either keep up contracted payments on them, or you default and the guarentor pays, i`m not sure how that would work if you each guarantee each others loans, did i read that correctly by the way ?

Both go insolvent. Loan is fully covered. Amigo lose money.

    It's a winner.

  • Hi
The budget i did was a rough estimate as i have never budgeted before.
Groceries included nappies which is 12 a day
Baby wipes calpol etc, my son also has a dairy intolerance and my husband lives the keto lifestyle i could be off with the budget it was just a quick guess.
Clothes i dont think thats too much for a family of 5 but if you think its high i will take your word for it.
    Car insurance sadly no
    Total rip off i know.
Internet includes netflix for the kids we got rid of insurance is contents included and council taxover 12 month.
Holiday we have never been on holiday in over 5 years.

Where do you do your grocery shopping? Both Aldi and Lidl nappies and baby wipes are very highly rated by mumsnet users and cost a lot less than leading providers if you have either of these near you may be worth trying to switch as many items as possible to their brand. I buy their cereal and just take the bag out and put it in the branded box, nobody in our house even notices. Same with olive oil etc my husband is a brand snob but when i decant into branded packaging he cant tell the difference.

keep clothes spends to only what is absolutely necessary and use facebook marketplace, ebay and charity shops nobody but you will ever know.

Switch to terry nappies from disposables. You can buy flush away liners and, taking into account the cost of the liners and washing the nappies, still works out 90% cheaper than the disposables and terry nappies with liners don't contain any nasty bactericides.

You might not like this, but create a veg patch in your garden. You can involve the older children. They will enjoy helping to grow fresh veg and you get to save on your food bill as well as eating healthier.
