Hi sorry don't know if this posted in the right place feel free to move.
I paid in OH's wages at the post office yesterday into my alliance & leicester account. I said there is £510 here, lady agreed and paid it in for me. I have just checked my receipt (i know should have checked yesterday) and it says £410!!!
I have rung them and they said their till was under yesterday not over and there is nothing they can do but she would chat to manager and told me to go back down after 4.30. I am 100% sure it was £510 as I checked in the car before walking in. The lady agreed with me also and if they disagree they say so and recount infront of you again. 4 & 5 are right next to each other on the number pad so surely this could be what happened, but as it is just my word what can do?
I cannot afford to loose £100 and have been in tears for the last hour. Is there anyway of proving it? there were no paying in slips given.

Can you go back in and find the person who paid it in and see if they remember anything on this?working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

Toria, you must be feeling really worried, I can understand that. There should be a wage slip with your DH's wage slip, what does that say? If there isn't, go back to his employers and ask for one [I would imagine you are entitled to one, in fact I would think that it was illegal not to give you one]. It will help back up your claim with the bank: you thought you paid in £x, he was paid £x, and you went there straight away.Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000

Hi thanks for replies. I went back down there and they didn't remember serving me, they said the manager is doing a stock check tonight as this will tell for sure what their balance is. So it may find they are £100 over (i dont think it will though) they said if it is their mistake they are very sorry, bu I should have checked the receipt.
Wages included a bonus so doesn't all show up on wage slips. Thanks anyway.0 -
You should still be told what the bonus is (if it is taxable, you need the information).
Is it possible that the mistake was at work: ie, an accidental underpayment? If you thought you had £510, you might have said that's what it was, but not actually have counted it. I would think it was extremely difficult to actually lose that amount of money.Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000
