Barclays Mortgage application

Hi there.
So the people buying our house are using Barclays bank for their mortgage. Nearly 2 wednesdays ago, we had Countrywide out doing a valuation of our property. We heard nothing back and now esurv have book to do a valuation this coming Thursday. Has anyone experienced 2 valuations before and why do they need to do it?
Our application with Nationwide took 10 days from application to mortgage offer with only 1 valuation.
So now, I'm panicking. Does anyone have any advice?
Thank you.

Speak to the agents dealing with the sale.
It could have been down valued, they may not want to lend on the property (not uncommon if near certain types of commercial premises for example) they may have declined your buyers mortgage application.
There are lots of different reasons, but you will only find out by asking the agents to find out why.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thank you.
I spoke to him and he said sometimes it just happens and it was nothing to worry about. He couldnt give any more away due to data protection.0 -
Looks like they have moved lenders. I think countrywide does all barclays valuations.0

I agree, looks like they’ve gone to a new lender. I thought Barclays was pretty Esurv-centric?

They have changed lender - as we have had to. Mortgage advisor assured us Barclays would be fine (we need to borrow into retirement). All going fine he tells me, then suddenly we fail on affordability. Barclays have already arranged valuation and as they don't offer a homebuyers report we have also had a separate survey done.
Now we are going with our plan A, Nationwide (much to our mortgage adviser's disgruntle). Nationwide have booked a valuation for 16th Dec. Our poor vendor has contacted her EA today as wondering why we have had 3 surveys! Err because of a useless mortgage advisor (L&C recommended by MSE!!!)0 -

Maybe it's localised. Down my way all hsbc/M&S stuff is done through shepherds I think they re called. More often than not its paneled to a smaller local firm which is good. Nationwide I think have a few big names cause it switches between esurv and countrywide on a day to day basis.
Its good if countrywide aren't getting involved in your new builds. The countrywide valuer around my parts hates new builds. Wouldn't value a property up when there were 50+ exchanged at the same price as he said they might all fall through so couldn't use as comparable! Down valued every new build he came across.
Regardless, still sounds like chnage of lender if surveying company have changed
OP - push your agents to get more info from your buyer. Might be nothing to worry about but I would personally like to know if there is something to be concerned about0
