Availing of ROI Accounts

Does anyone avail of any accounts in the Republic of Ireland and do they offer any better incentives than what we have from UK banks?

I use Ulster Bank current accounts in both jurisdictions

No free banking on the Irish one unless you are over 65

Irish Savings accounts have very low interest (even lower than UK banks)


Currency exchange thru the banks are also not competitive


But you need to do your own research

It's actually a good question and a shame that there is nothing in ROI that may entice us Northerners.

In that case open a Revolut account online https://www.revolut.com/
You can have accounts in a variety of currencies in addition to Sterling. Good market rates and no transaction charges.
