Where do people sell UK gift cards?

Hi,

I have an unused Currys gift card. Google shows many sites however they trade in US cards.

Any ideas?

Do people really buy second hand gift cards - how can they know that the credit hasn't already been spent?

    eBay?

To be honest, with the reputation that Currys have, I cannot see people queuing up to buy a gift card unless it's offered at 25% of the face value.

    What reputation do they have?

And yes in America it is a big market, why pay more when can pay less.

A pretty bad one especially regarding after sales service

Use it to buy something and then sell it on ebay as brand new/unopened. Probably get a better return than the discount anyone would want when buying a gift card (half value if you're lucky).

Coupons are also massive over there but that makes no difference to the market over here.

The company that tried it over here with giftcards went belly up quite quickly - it was rare for cards from desirable retailers to be available (such as Amazon, the big supermarkets etc) as people would spend it themselves and get the full value instead of selling them for a discounted price.

The less desirable the retailer the bigger the discount generally needs to be and Currys are certainly not high on the desirability list.

two main reasons in my opinion:
    1. Some people may be more in need in cash than just buying an item from a specific store.
    2. Gift cards can be given for free in giveaways, but it's quite limiting to how the can be used, so objectively a $100 gift card has no real $100 value to everyone.
