Ultra-fine silk embroidery thread

Please can anyone suggest where I might be able to buy this? It needs to be the really fine sort (not quite human hair thin, but close!), either silk or synthetic. Colour not important. Many thanks.

    I would start by looking in a craft shop (or online) for silk embroidery floss. If you are happy to use DMC cross stitch thread this comes in hundreds of colours and can be divided into strands, and there are similar threads in silk.
