  • Hello 👋
Monthly update, new debt total is £2,368 I'm not managing any overpayments at the moment so as it stands my debt free date will be February 2022.
Money is really really tight at the moment, my income has dropped significantly yet my outgoings haven't decreased in fact this month they have most definitely increased!! So it's going to be a struggle until February now, then once the debt has gone at least I'll have a bit more wiggle room in my budget.
Feeling deflated and low as I'm getting so close to becoming debt free you'd think I'd be elated but my recent drop in income feels like a big blow. I'll get used to it and I'll manage it's just going to be a really tough 5 months.

  • Hi Poppy,

    Hi @SuperFrank88
Thank you for checking in, I'm doing okish, I've had to accept I won't be debt free by the end of 2021 sadly but I will be debt free by February 2022 so it's not a huge difference.
Money is so so tight right now so I'm really feeling the pressure financially.
My debt is now below £2,000 which I'm really really happy about. It's a loooooong journey and hard to not let it get me down at times but I know it will be so worth it once I'm debt free.
I'm going to spend the next few months trying to make sure I've got my funds in place so that when I become debt free I'm not in a position where is an unexpected cost was to come up if need to borrow money to pay for it. As I really don't want to borrow money again after I get to debt free status.
So that's the plan to get me through until Feb next year.
    Hope everyone's doing well

    Hi Poppy,

Glad to see you back on the thread. Please don't put too much pressure on yourself by trying to get debt free by a certain date. I completely get it that you want the debt gone asap but it does sound like it is having an adverse effect on your mh, which for me is not worth it at all. You have done such a fantastic job up to this date. Don't let those numbers on a screen make you ill, because at the end of the day that is exactly what they are....numbers on a screen.

You are doing awesome. Just look after yourself too :)

Yes you're right, I don't know why I keep putting so much pressure on myself, I'm really going to try and just relax and spend the next 4 months just prepping to make sure all my ducks in a row for when I become debt free.
