            With an estate around £550 with a £220k house and 2 persons nil rate bands this would be IHT free anyway no need for a DOV.0

            Having been diagnosed with vascular dementia does she have the capacity to actually do this? If she still does, then does she have powers of attorney in place as it is now urgent or her finances could get messy!0

            You must pay Inheritance Tax by the end of the sixth month after the person died.
Example
If the person died in January, you must pay Inheritance Tax by 31 July.
There are different due dates if you’re making payments on a trust.
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) will charge you interest if you do not pay by the due date.0
