Accessing HMRC Tax Account

in Cutting tax
Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with access to tax account. My partner tried to sign into his tax account this morning and after keying in his id and P/W, he gets a screen asking'how do you want to receive your access code' Previously, it always defaulted to the land line; this morning it's giving him the choice to select his mobile number. However, after choosing the landline, the system seems to freeze up and he doesn't get the access code.
