Administration Charge? Can I claim back?

Hello,
I've just been checking a catalogue account I have and realise they have been charging me a monthly administration fee of £12 on top of the monthly credit charges. Is this allowed? More importantly can I claim it back? and how?
TIA

  • On what basis would you look to to claim it back?
  • well that's my question... Are the allowed to charge such a high administration fee and, if not, can I claim it back?
  • Yes, any fee can be charged.

But if you think you've been charged in error, send them your complaint and they will investigate.

What exactly is the "Administration" fee for? Are you in arrears or over your agreed credit limit perhaps?

They can, of course, charge whatever they like and you are free to vote with your feet and shop elsewhere.

I doubt you'll get anywhere complaining that the fees are too expensive, but if the fees are an error then you should let them know...
