Gaming PC - entry level?

8 Posts
Hi Everyone,
I'm looking to purchase an entry level gaming PC for a 9 year old that is heavily into Minecraft. Obviously, it needs to be able to run that but I'm not wanting to break the bank when buying one either.
Does anyone have any recommendations of where to look or current deals?
Thanks

- Does he want to play any other games?
- Do you need peripherals? Mouse, Keyboard etc
- Do you require a monitor/2 monitors?
If he just wants to play Minecraft and your budget is less than £400 then you would be better off buying a Ps4 or Xbox One.

The games don't need a lot to run, he plays on an old Dell 7010, (i3-3220) with a GT1030 graphics card.
PC £65 ebay, GT1030 from CEX £50. Linked to 2 monitors. Plays games on one whilst watching Youtube on the other. He would/could play all day if we didn't limit him!
This setup is fine for now, but won't cope with newer more demanding games.
He also has Minecraft on his Switch, but wont play it, says its rubbish in comparison!

Seems good enough with money saving in mind.
