Modern Toss is the bang up-to-date cartoon sketch show with a huge cult following, and is now yours to own through 4DVD from Monday 26th November. Featuring live action-animation hybrids, Modern Toss Series 1 is based on the foul-mouthed comic and website of the same name, the brainchild of two purveyors of twisted mayhem, former journalists Mick Bunnage and Jon Link.
Short on good taste and sensitivity but brimming with originality and laughs, Modern Toss was spawned from 2005’s Comedy Lab season and features performers including Mackenzie Crook (The Office), Paul Kaye (Dennis Pennis) and Simon Greenall (Alan Partridge).
Featuring a host of maladjusted characters, Modern Toss introduces crowd pleasing favourites like fearless master sign-writer Mr Tourette, whose business re-branding solutions are often mistaken by clients for deliberately abusive drivel; socially-inept Alan who reacts to bland family gatherings with carefully-orchestrated destruction; two ASBO astronauts who delight in tormenting one another; celebrity-obsessed flies who swap dubious eye witness accounts in Flytalk; a goosestepping nose with legs and a hat known as Sneezeman with allergies to contemporary life, and the Gnat Burgler a bionic mosquito capable of sucking a dinosaur dry!
Modern Toss Series 1 on DVD is full of extras from the subverted series including an exclusive DVD coffee table pamphlet; Alan’s ‘making of’ video diary, as well as a meadow full of talking signs, a film of people saying hello and a little bit of music thrown in for good measure!
Modern Toss Series 1 is released on DVD by 4DVD on November 26th!
