ASDA Wine Bargain

Options
Asda have a current offer on most of their wines, 3 for £10. Not a bad offer espaecially as some of the bottles on offer are priced at £8 each.

You can however make this a hell of a lot better! The Asda policy is that if you don't like the wine, they double your refund. If you dont't "have" your slip, they give you double the full value back on a gift card.

In other words, but 3 £8 bottles for £10, take one back and get £16 refund. Making £6 and getting 2 bottles free. OR buy another 3 bottles for £10 and pay only £4 for 5 bottles of wine with a value of £40.

Why not bring them all back? Or do you think that would be Too dishonest?

by slip do you mean receipt?

why on earth would asda take back wine without a receipt proving you bought the wine from them and then give you their generous refund policy?

surely the only way they can do this is on asda branded wine?

Why not just get a large trolly and fill it with ASDA brand goods, wheel them straight over to Customer services, say you dont like them and get double back.
That way you can get your weekly shop for nothing

I did buy some bottles of Wolf Blass Merlot when they were selling it for the ridiculous price of £3 - but one of them was genuinely corked but I can't find my receipt. I have on occasion bought another bottle in these circumstances and taken the faulty bottle back with that receipt but I think we 'bought them out' as I haven't seen it on the shelf since!!!

What a great idea ? but why just be a fraudster, why not go the whole hog and do the wages van as well.....or is that a little bit too illegal for you and doesnt float your boat..... little wonder the countries gone to the dogs
  • nothing dishonest or illegal in it, just using their system. BTW: i only found this out because i took back a bottle that was genuinly corked and that is what their customer services did. If that is their policy then so be it.

They must have this policy so that if things do go wrong, we are made satisfied with their customer service and don't take our business elsewhere.
Abusing the system will mean they will eventually change their policy and then those that have genuine problems with the wine will miss out.
You should have posted this message telling me people that IF they have problem with their Asda wine, it is worth going back to them because they are generous in their refund policy. Instead you are encouraging fraud.

i had something similar happen to me last week there.i bought some boddingtons on the 2 for £16 deal then heard that they had on the guinness for the same price so took them back(couldnt find the receipt) all i wanted was a swap like for like but at the cs counter the boddingtons scanned at £9.99 each so they give me £19.98 back i bought the guinness and had nearly £4 left for myself.
