Car Ownership

Options
I was recently declared bankrupt and my mum has offered me the use of her car.
If I registered the car in my name would OR start hassling me about the car, my mum has a sales receipt to prove she is the true owner?

The problem I have is the insurance on the car is considerably more expensive if I am the main driver and my mum is the registered owner and keeper. If I put the insurance in my name and stated I was the registered keeper and owner, would OR find out and if they did would the sales receipt suffice as proof I was not the owner if they questioned me?

Thanks in advance for any input

If your Mum can provide clear, irrefutable evidence the car is her's in terms of a bill of sale, bank statement etc then there is no problem with you using the car or even registering it in your name. The registered keeper is not the same as being the vehicle owner.
Getting insurance is a separate matter.

Yes, she has a VAT invoice for the car in her name. I was thinking maybe I should contact the OR and tell them what I am planning to do and let them ok it before I register and insure the car in my name, to make sure they don't try and seize it as the car is worth £13k.
