Hi Littleluc21,
I've recently had a terrible experience with them. To cut very long story short I had 12 month contract which finished in Aug 06 and sent letter in July 06 telling them to cancel contract when it was up. They kept billing me for phone which i now did not use (i changed provider) and claimed never to have received any letters i sent (even though i had proof of recorded delivery!!) I found them to be very rude on phone when i eventually got thru with one girl even telling me that they "sometimes deliberately do not cancel contracts" - can you believe that?!!!. It has taken 16 months to sort this out and only because i threatened legal action. Be very careful with them and ensure you send any letters recorded delivery and take details of all phone calls eg time, date, who you spoke to and how long the call was.
Good Luck0 -
Yes they are a really rubbish phone company and I have read similar horror stories about them on the net. Do you know what address to send the recorded letter to? Really DO NOT want to have to call them again, always seem to get some jobs worth bully on the phone when I do, but want to stop paying them 20.99 a month for a phone I don't use and start paying more of my debt off!! If I cancel the direct debit once I have sent letter would that work too?

The address you are looking for is 1006 Disconnections
PO Box 345
Unit 19
Southampton SO30 2NR
I cancelled the direct debit thinking they had received my recorded delivery letter and that my contract was finished and 3 months later i got a letter from a debt collection agency demanding 3 month's payment for the phone which hadn't been used!!! They really are dreadful to deal with and are reluctant to provide you with the most basic information you are entitled to.
Hope this helps.0 -
i used to work for carphone - luckily i wasnt in customer service i was in connections.
Is it landline or mobile?
I cancelled my Talktalk contract i did it on the phone, it took about 2 hours  but it was cancelled, i hate writing as things in writing is easily put to one side and calls are recorded. just make sure you note the day and time you call and the person that you are speaking to.March 2006 £15,200+ in debt April £843.64 in debt - Debt Free date Sept 2009
