Great British Seniors Hearing Aids

Good morning all,
I'm after some help if possible please.
I have been thinking of getting a hearing test and the subsequent hearing aids for a while now, and someone on Facebook shared an ad for Great British Seniors.
I applied for a hearing test, and the guy is due in about an hour's time.
The sales pitch part of the phone call yesterday, was that they can offer hearing aids for a lot less than the normal Boots etc, all with great savings, 5 year warranty blah blah.
Now, if all good, i'm happy to make a saving, BUT I cannot find anything on the web about them, apart from their website, which appears to be one page, offering the hearing aids and tests.
So, can anyone at all shed any light on them? I'm certainly not going to commit to anything until I can find more info or get some guidance, so your help would be greatly recieved.
TIA
Ian

If you have not worn hearing aids before you should have a nhs hearing test (initial test may be at your go surgery ) and try nhs heating aids.
The latest ones are digital and discreet. They can be open fit , moulded earpieces or earpieces that you can hardly see (if suitable for your hearing loss) .
The aids and batteries are free and an audiologist can set them up with different settings eg for crowded rooms , listening to music etc.
Try them first before deciding whether to spend a lot of money on an unknown. Then you can see what you might want to spend on eg silicon earmolds if not available in your area.
Many people are swayed by in the canal hearing aids that you can't see , but they are not suitable for all hearing loss or for all people.
NHS aids are not the beige monstrosities of old and are constantly updated . You will normally get a new pair every three years.0 -
Agree that a visit to the NHS is a good idea. One of my relatives has one of their hearing aids and you can't tell she is wearing it. She gets checked every year and new hearing issued if necessary.

Evening all,
Thanks very much for your replies and suggestions. They are all very helpful.
I did have a visit and check up today and it certainly was a different and new experience, and very successful in that it did show how my hearing has deteriorated.
I haven't committed to anything yet, and as it turns out, the company name and details aren't as i thought, as it's a different trading name. I do have all of his details and my wife can check everything is as he says.
If I do buy from him (likely, as he is a very small company with no shop costs as all it done with home visits) so he can offer the hearing aids a lot cheaper than the usual suspects.
I could go through NHS but their offerings apparently aren't as good as through 'private' purchases. Whether true of not, I could not say, but a bit of googling does suggest this.
Also, I can pay by credit card and if any issues, charge back. I also get 30 days satisfaction guarantee, 5 years warranty, so all seems good.
Again, thanks very much for taking the time to reply0 -
Could you give us some prices of these hearing aids you were offered?0

Hi Sammy, to be honest, I was only offered one 'top of the range' pair of hearing aids from th guy that visited. These were the ones with the tiny wire attached, and hang over your ear. These were offered at £3k for the pair with a £450 discount for some reason, so £2550 all in.
I did also go to Boots but i've now discovered that one ear has been badly affected by a cold I had, so I have to get rid of some fluid in the back of my ear before being tested again0
