Remortgage Advice if possible

Hi guys,
I am having a damn bad year and so have come here cap in hand hoping to get some decent advice. Basically my lovely wife has destroyed my world and suggested a split, she does not want a divorce but does want to move out to her own place and get her half of the house. I do not want to move so will have to buy her out, this means I need to get my hands on approximately £22,000 which means I will need to remortgage and take the house on as a soul owner instead of the joint ownership the house is currently in.
So basically I need to find a mortgage for approximately £145,000, as I have no idea what I am ultimately going to do I would prefer an interest only type of repayment, the house itself is worth approximately £170,000 and I currently owe approximately £117,000. I earn around £31,000 a year, not including overtime, which I can get a reasonable amount of.
Now what I am really after is advice on my next best course of action, are there such things as independant mortgage advisors that can scan the market for me to find the best on the market at that time and more importantly is this a free service, if so who should I phone or email to get an appointement. If I have to pay for this service then who gives the best 'bang for buck' as it were. Or ultimately can do people on this forum help people looking for the best mortage around and if so what do you advice.
Thanks guys, hope you can help despite the wall of text.

Hi Degas
Sorry to hear about your split.
You should be able to get the required mortgage, looks like your salary with overtime will support it, also interest only possible.
Do get a fee free (recommended by a friend) mortgage adviser. Many posts on this site about selecting an adviser.
It is always difficult to give specific advice on a forum as too much personal info would be needed. Face to face with a friendly adviser is best."The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him no good."(Samuel Johnson 1709-1784)
Lots of years in financial services, still learning!0 -
Thanks Dave, any chance you can post a couple of links to fee free advisor discussion threads if possible, I aren't really sure what to stick in the search engine on the forum, many thanks in advice.0
