Hi all
This is my first time on this forum, I usually frequent old style. But I think I could do with a bit of a kick up the bum.
In 2004 we sold our house as we could not afford to keep up payments, both on mortgage and debt secured on it. The money just about paid off all our debts. Since then we have been living in private rented houses. I have been quite strict moneywise, I made myself a little budget book and was doing quite well......here comes the but
We have recently been sliding down the credit/debt route again, at the moment it is relatively small, but so is our income.....On top of that there are a few, very small, bills from previous addresses that have caught up with us that I am paying back too.
I want to stop this now as last time it could so easily of have ruined our lives, and to be honest nearly did. I do not want to go there again. I'm not sure what exactly i'm asking, just for you all to give me a shake and get a grip i suppose.
Thanks
Mel x

Welcome to the board, you're doing the right thing looking to stop the spending before it takes control again. I'm not so good with the advice, I'll leave that to someone who knows what they're talking about!:heartpuls

Hi Mel
I'll swap you a look at your SOA for a good recipe;)
Only kidding but your SOA would be a great place to start for us to help you to cut back - I promise I wont comment on your food bill

Welcome Mel, it's lovely to have you here. I'm horrible at sticking with budgets but these guys really do keep me on track. I don't have debt now but I stick around to keep me on the straight and narrow (I sold a house too).
You're in the right place, stick up a SOA and let us see if we can find a saving or two?:A

WOW what quick replies, Thank You.
I did an SOA years back, when we were trying to cling on to the house, and I sort of did a mini one of my own in my budget book.
I will do SOA tommorrow, like I say not big debts but small income....
It is when you start to miss a payment here and there it just sort of messes everything up. Also have a dh who persuades me ever so enthusiastically that we NEED to buy this, that and the other.
I usually refuse point blank to him, but I think lately I have been feeling a bit stressed so haven't needed much persuading.
tigtag02 - sorry I didn't understand the post about the food....
